INCOMING AND OUTBOUND CALLS

Voice AI assistant for phone and WhatsApp calls

Palmate's voice AI assistant answers incoming phone and WhatsApp calls, matches each caller to their customer record, and completes requests inside your connected systems. It can also place outbound calls for scheduled callbacks or voice campaigns. Every conversation is recorded, transcribed, and summarized, so your team can see the outcome without replaying the full call.

TWO CHANNELS, ONE ASSISTANT

What does Palmate's voice AI assistant do?

Palmate listens to customers on phone and WhatsApp, matches each caller to their record, and completes requests inside the systems you already use. Outbound calls follow the same rules, whether a workflow event triggers them or the assistant starts one because a customer's request needs a follow up.

Phone calls

Palmate answers incoming phone calls and links each conversation to the right customer record. The assistant places outbound calls for scheduled callbacks and voice campaigns within rules you set.

It works with Verimor, Twilio, Netgsm, 3CX, and other cloud phone systems already in use.

WhatsApp voice calls

WhatsApp voice calls run on your existing WhatsApp number once calling is enabled. Palmate answers the incoming call and links the conversation to the right customer record.

We help enable calling on your WhatsApp number during setup.

OUTBOUND PHONE CALLS

Make follow-up calls part of your workflow.

Manage scheduled callbacks and voice campaigns in one platform. Start a call when a defined event occurs or when your assistant identifies a need in the customer’s request.

01

Set the time or trigger

For example, let a workflow start the call when a scheduled callback is due. Automate recurring calls with schedules and triggers.

02

Let the assistant assess the next step

For example, when a customer request needs a phone follow-up, the assistant can assess the context and initiate a call. In this agentic approach, decisions stay within your defined conditions and permissions.

DURING THE CONVERSATION

How does the voice AI assistant handle a call?

During a conversation, Palmate works through three steps that keep the request moving and the record accurate.

01

Retrieves order details

Matches the caller, looks up the order, and reads back its current status from the source system.

02

Schedules a callback

Captures the request during the call and creates it in your configured workflow, so the next step stays actionable.

03

Uses the customer's context

Keeps the record and the conversation together, so your team sees what was discussed when they take over.

THE CALL ENDS. THE CONTEXT STAYS.

Why keep phone and WhatsApp voice AI in one platform?

Each call carries a recording, transcript, and AI summary in the same conversation view. Your team can find incoming and outbound calls by date and status instead of searching call logs separately. Recording retention is configurable per project, with a default of 30 days, and authorized users can open the recording, transcript, and summary together.

  • Replay the conversation or read its transcript
  • See the reason for the call and its outcome in the summary
  • Find incoming and outbound calls by date and status
  • Set recording retention for your project

CHOOSE THE CHANNEL FOR THE JOB

Which channel fits your use case, phone or WhatsApp?

Frequently asked questions about Palmate's voice AI assistant

Can I use my existing phone line with Palmate's voice AI assistant?

Yes, Palmate works with Verimor, Twilio, Netgsm, 3CX, and other cloud phone systems. You can deploy the assistant on your current number without switching providers.

Do I need a second number for WhatsApp voice calls?

No, you can use your existing WhatsApp number connected through Meta Cloud API. Meta has to enable calling for that number, and numbers connected through Gupshup aren't supported.

Can the assistant transfer callers to a human agent?

Incoming phone calls can transfer to an agent group or extension in your phone system. This doesn't apply to WhatsApp calls or to outbound phone calls.

Does Palmate replace a traditional IVR menu?

Palmate lets customers describe their request in conversation instead of choosing from a keypad menu. Phone keypad input still works depending on setup, and routing gets aligned with your existing phone system during implementation.

How long does Palmate retain call recordings?

Recording retention is configurable per project, with a default of 30 days. Authorized users can access the recording, transcript, and summary for each call.

Can Palmate call customers automatically?

Yes, Palmate supports individual calls, scheduled callbacks, and voice campaigns started through automation. In agentic workflows, the assistant checks the context and your business rules before starting a call, though business-initiated WhatsApp calling isn't supported.

What happens to the conversation after the call ends?

Palmate keeps the recording, transcript, and AI summary together in the customer record. Your team can search past calls by date and status instead of replaying each one to find what happened.
